Thursday / Saturday Event Series 2019

Relaxed Orienteering for all!

Information is now up for all six Club summer series events. This year we are having four events on a consecutive Thursday evening and then two Events on a Saturday morning.

As in previous years these events will offer two courses – a score and a longer “cross country ” event. The score will be suitable for beginners and improvers, while the cross country course will suit those wishing to test their fitness.

The events are open to all and the only equipment needed is outdoor clothing and a pair of trainers / running shoes. Please use the event form on the event page to tell us you are attending so we can have a map printed and ready. Also use the form if you have any question about the events.

Irish Hat-Trick for Chair

Club Chairperson David Blair won an impressive Hat-Trick (or should that be a grand slam) at this year’s Irish Orienteering Championships in Fermanagh, winning the M65 Sprint, Middle -Distance and Classic races on three consecutive days!

Blast from the past Peter O’Hara, who has now re-joined the club, also won both his races in the Middle and Classic in M45.

Congratulations to both and all the other Club members who travelled to these excellent events which showcased the very best of FERMO Orienteering and organisation. Also many thanks to Club members who assisted FERMO with marshalling jobs on the day.

Finally congratulations to Stephen Linton for controlling the Classic race – a job very well done.
