Dear Member,

Thank you for being a member of NWOC during 2023 and thanks to the many members past and present who attended our 50 Year Anniversary Event at the Roe Valley Country Park in December 2022. It was nice to see such a good crowd there. As well as organising this event our small club was able to plan two N.I. Colour events at Pomeroy and Portstewart and assist with the starts at the British Sprint and Middle Distance Champs in Armagh and Drumkeeragh in May. Thanks to all the main officials at these events.

You will have received a email from BOF explaining how you can renew your membership. Thank you if you have already renewed for 2024. It is great to have you on board again as we plan another busy year ahead. Our club are down to plan the N.I. Score and Night Champs on the 17th February at St. Columb’s Park and Ballykelly as well as two Colour Events in May and August/September. We can only undertake these events because of your continued support. Also our club have started preparations for the IOC in 2025 which will be based around Magilligan. We will need everyone on board with this event as well as all N.I.O.A members.

With changes to the membership structure and pricing, 2024 is a great year to invite friends and family to join too. Annual Family membership has been reduced from £60 to £50 and there is also a reduced rates for young adults (21–25 years).  With Senior and Junior (Under 21s) prices remaining the same as last year £25 and £10 respectively, we think this is great value. Our club needs New Members. If you have any suggestions about how we can attract them then please speak to any member of the committee.

Our next event is at Mussenden Temple on Thursday 28th December. Hopefully we will see you there for a Charlie Reid Special. Information is up on the club website. Ruth and David Blair are off orienteering in South Africa over Christmas so we will postpone our Club  Zoom AGM until early in the New Year. We wish both of them safe and enjoyable travels.
