Well not quite – you are invited to attend the NWOC Xmas Event at Downhill Demesne and Mussenden Temple on Thursday 28th December for a mass start at 11:30am.
We are trying something new this year which we hope will get the best out of this small, beautiful and interesting area. The Long and Medium courses will both have a mass start at 11:30am, but this will not be a score event! Instead the courses will be a mixture of control clusters which you can visit in any order (but you must visit all) and linking sections of traditional in-sequence linear orienteering. Everyone does all the controls and the fastest time (first back) is the winner. So elements of score, elements of relay and elements of cross country O all in one event!
If this is too radical (or confusing) there is an option for a traditional score course suitable for all levels of experience and fitness.
Please note that as the map printing company needs to print and post before the start of the Xmas holiday, on-line entries will close very early – at 10pm on Sunday 17th December!
