Directions

From Dungiven: – approach Limavady on B68 and turn left at the brown “Roe Valley Country Park” sign and follow Dogleap Road to the visitor centre.

From Limavady: –  follow signs from the town centre for Dungiven / B68. Just after the end of the town speed limit turn right at the brown “Roe Valley Country Park” sign and follow Dogleap Road to the visitor centre.

Course

There will one course, a score with a 45 minute time limit (10 penalty points per minute late). If you manage to visit all the controls within the time you will score 500 points – 10 for every year of North West Orienteering Club Orienteering!

Mass Start

There will be a mass start for the score event at 12:00. Please assemble at the Roe Valley Park Centre by 11:45 for a short walk to the start point (across the road bridge).

Electronic Punching

Sportident Electronic punching with beacon mode enabled for SI Air on all controls but not on the start and finish boxes which must be “dipped” in the traditional manner. Ordinary SI cards will work on all controls as normal. Passive SI dippers are available for hire and can be booked in the entry system.

Hazards

• Parents should be aware that the River Roe runs through the competition area and may be in spate after heavy rain.
• Parents should be aware there are high cliffs associated with the upper part of the river in the competition area.
