A small band of 6 club members travelled to Divis Mountain, overlooking Belfast, on a fairly cold and windy day. The event chosen for the club championships was the third of LVO’s Autumn Trophy series. Thankfully the rain and sleet stayed away during the event and although the terrain consisted of many marches, in places, the runnability was good. The area is not particularly difficult but any small errors in navigation can be costly.
NWOC Club Champs at Divis this Saturday (27/10/2018)
Our club champs are being held on Divis Mountain at the LVO Autumn Trophy Event 3 this Saturday.
As with last year each NWOC competitor will be given a handicap rating (mins per km) based on their performances in 2018 which will be used to calculate their finishing position. This means that we are all running against each other to find the club champ for 2018 and everyone has a chance of winning!
Coleraine Year 6 Orienteering Championships
Orienteering returned to Coleraine College when the Year 6 Championships were held for local primary schools. Thanks to the staff and 120 pupils of St. John’s, Hezlett, Millburn and Irish Society who eagerly participated in the course. It was great to have Susan Lambe along to help along with Des, Ruth and Andrew. The Championship was hotly contested with Millburn coming out as winners with an aggregate time of 29.10 mins, just 24 seconds ahead of Hezlett In second.
