The first in a series of primary school orienteering championships were held in Garvagh Forest last week. On a sunny evening pupils, parents and staff all took part representing local schools. The competitors participated in a Score event which involved navigating their way around the forest to locate a maximum of 20 control sites. On the night the team from Carhill Integrated recorded their second consecutive victory while the team from St.Patrick and St. Joseph’s Primary, Glenullin , came a very creditable second as many of the parents had never orienteered before.
