NI CS 5 Parking at Moydamlaght


Event parking will be in the small forest car park and along an adjacent forest track. Parking is very limited so please share a car if possible.

The official forest car park has been greatly reduced in size and is now very small. Once this is full we will direct cars up the forest track just south the car park entrance. Some cars can park on the hard standing / turning point area others will be able to turn and park along the track facing the exit.

Alternatively there is ample parking at the nearby community centre if you can park and share a single car to the forest.

New Season – New Map NI CS 5 Moydamlaght

NI Colour Series 5 will take place at Moydamlaght Forest on the 31st August. This area was first used for Orienteering about 1979 and featured the first (we believe) map based on a professional photogrametric plot.

Owing to the ongoing lack of publicly available LiDAR data in Northern Ireland (unlike the rest of the UK and the south of Ireland) NWOC opted to commission a private drone flown survey of the area.

For most runners this will be a new area. The forest has matured well and all courses will be contained within it (there will be no running on the adjacent open mountain).
