Planner’s Notes

The wood has areas of windblown trees. These are marked as rectangular blocks of dark green. These show the areas to be avoided and are not intended to be used for navigation to a control site.

In some areas the vegetation has bounced up over the last six weeks reducing visibility considerably and making navigation more demanding. Leg cover is recommended.

On the far side of the river there is only one constructed path beside the river. All other paths are made by dog walkers and are much less distinct and easy to miss.

Hazards

  • Parents should be aware that the River Roe flows through the centre of the map and is often fast flowing. There are also steep cliffs where it cuts through a gorge at the south end of the map.

Officials

  • Organiser: Ruth Blair
  • Controller: Anthony McGonigle
  • Planner: Rebecca Linton
